Description - ExternalThe CVT, under medical direction, practices the diagnostic evaluation, and care of patients with deficiencies and abnormalities affecting the cardiac system.
Performs diagnostic testing for cardiopulmonary disorders/ diseases on inpatients as well as outpatients.
Responsible for performance of 12-lead electrocardiograms (ECG's), rhythm strips, and pacemaker function analysis and performing each test according to the specifications of the individual interpreting physician.
Responsible for performing patient hook-up, discontinuation, and scanning analysis on 24-hour ambulatory electrocardiograms (Holter Monitors) and performing each test according to the specifications of the individual interpreting physician.
Responsible for the performance of graded exercise (stress) testing and performing each test according to the specifications of the individual interpreting physician.
Responsible for the performance of thallium stress testing and performing each test according to the specifications of the individual interpreting physician.
Responsible for the performance of pharmacologic stress thallium testing procedures and performing each test according to the specifications of the individual interpreting physician.
Responsible for performing transthoracic echocardiograms (2-D, M-Mode, doppler, and color-flow) and performing each test according to the specifications of the individual interpreting physician.
Responsible performing transesophageal echocardiograms and performing each test according to the specifications of the individual interpreting physician.
Responsible for the performance of transthoracic stress echocardiography testing procedures and performing each test according to the specifications of the individual interpreting physician.
Responsible for the performance of dobutamine stress echocardiography procedures and performing each test according to the specifications of the individual interpreting physician.
The CVT is able to recognize the presence of life threatening arrhythmias that may present during the course of said procedure(s) and take appropriate action with regards to same.
Observes professional ethics in maintaining confidential information concerning the financial, personal, medical or employment status of patients/families at JPMC.
Must follow and enforce accepted safety practices for patients and hospital.
Must report safety hazards and initiate appropriate action.
Must participate in safety instructional programs.
Demonstrate knowledge and competency to administer pharmacological, diagnostic and therapeutic agents as indicated / authorized.
Observe and monitor patient responses and report changes as indicated.
Performs all functions in accordance with Federal, State, JCAHO, hospital and other regulatory and accrediting standards.
Demonstrate knowledge and competency to deliver care to all age groups.
Complies with and supports department and hospital mission statement.
Produces a high level of quality care with concern for efficiency, cost effectiveness, and communication.
Prepares and maintains departmental/patient medical records.
Maintains department equipment ready for use and demonstrates satisfactory understanding of use of all equipment.
Performs job duties with awareness for safety, education and infection control.
Demonstrate Clinical and department specific competencies:
Laboratory functions; medication preparation; therapy administration; and special testing.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications - ExternalMust be a graduate of an accredited Respiratory Care Program and be Certified through the American Heart Association (ACLS, PALS, & BLS) and NRP.
Previous experience is preferred.
Basic Required Skills include; organizational, customer relations, math, grammar/spelling, computer training, the ability to follow written and oral direction, and the ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
