Progress Rail Services Corporation, a Caterpillar company, a leading provider of parts and services for the railroad industry with locations throughout the U.S., Canada, Mexico and Brazil seeks an Environmental, Health and Safety Manager for its Mayfield, KY locomotive facility.
Duties:
Familiar with OSHA and EPA guidelines.
Monitors EHS activities for compliance.
Works closely with corporate Safety and Environmental departments
Conducts safety and environmental audits and inspections and maintains records.
Conducts EHS training for location.
Coordinates any work related injuries or illnesses with Corporate Health Services Department.
Conducts Job Hazard Assessments.
Ensures EHS polices and directives are being followed.
Audits mobile crews and facilities to ensure compliance.
Conducts investigations and coordinates findings with corporate EHS departments.
Qualifications:
Bachelor''s degree in EHS required
Minimum of 3 years experience in safety and environmental field preferred
Proven experience conducting EHS compliance.
Solid understanding of safety practices and ability to conduct safety training on an ongoing basis
Good communication skills a must.
Demonstrated ability to work effectively at all levels, including company management, staff, contractors, vendors, and site personnel.
Must have valid drivers license.
Must be able to pass a background check which reviews any and all felonies and misdemeanors in the past 7 years.
Must be able to meet requirements of pre-employment, post-offer drug test and fitness for duty medical review and exam.
Essential Job Functions:
Involves frequent bending, kneeling, stooping, lifting, climbing and walking on gravel and other uneven surfaces.
Must work outside in all types of weather conditions (rain, sleet, snow, wind, dust, extreme heat/cold).
Must be available to all shifts when needed (potential 24/7 on-call situation)
